Sustainability
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Galway English Academy, sustainability is part of how we operate every day. We believe that every small action counts — and that together, our small changes can lead to big ones. Here's how we're working to reduce our environmental footprint as a school.
☕ Skip the Takeaway Cup
When you arrive for class, please don't grab a coffee on the way! We'll have tea and coffee ready for you at the school, so you can enjoy your morning brew without the waste of a disposable cup.
💧 Refill, Don't Buy
We've installed a fresh water dispenser at the school so you can refill your own water bottle throughout the day. Please bring a reusable bottle and help us cut down on single-use plastic.
♻️ Recycling & Paperless Practices
We recycle as much as possible at the school, including ink cartridges. All paper used at Galway English Academy is 100% recycled, and all student receipts are issued by email to eliminate unnecessary printing.
🌳 Proud Members of Hometree
We are proud members of Hometree, a native woodland conservation organisation based in Co. Clare, Ireland. Hometree works to establish and conserve permanent native woodland across Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity through afforestation, restoration, and education. Our membership reflects our commitment to supporting Ireland's natural environment beyond the walls of our school.
Together, we can make a difference — one cup, one bottle, one tree at a time.
